OPEN CALL: Her Art in Action 2026
The theme for Her Art in Action 2026 ‘A Home with a View’ invites artists to explore how women create, define, reshape and challenge the idea of ‘home’ within the feminine experience. Taking inspiration from the idea of creating a place for oneself beyond domestic responsibilities as well as a meditation on the friction between public and private spheres, ‘home’ becomes a place to reflexively explore how women critique, claim and/or reclaim space for themselves.
‘Home’ is not neutral, but loaded with layers of contradictions embedded within family, nostalgia, learning, longing, expectations, and more broadly ecological responsibility and community activation. We encourage artists to consider the myriad forces that shape ‘home’—like land ownership, displacement, or migration, as well as personal perspectives on what the idea of ‘home’ means; it isn’t always a physical place—it might be a ritual, a relationship, a memory, or even a body.
We want to know what ‘home’ represents to artists in all of its nuances, from the intimate to the expansive, and consider how home can be created in the most unexpected places and relationships.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
- Strength and creativity of artistic concept
- Fit with curatorial theme
- Ambition of the project – artwork must be able to be produced in time and to the desired quality for exhibition
- Budget – while we provide a production budget, our budgets are limited, and we cannot accommodate artworks that are expensive to produce
- Previous experience/exhibition history
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Selected artists must be available during installation and exhibition dates.
- Works must be ready for installation upon arrival.
- Artists retain copyright and ownership of their work.
- Any major conceptual or structural changes to the project during the production or exhibition process require prior approval from the curators.
- Selected artists are required to have a valid VOEN (Taxpayer Identification Number) in order to receive artist fees, production budgets, or other financial support.
- The production budget provided by the organizer must be used exclusively for the creation, development, or presentation of the selected project.
- Artists are responsible for providing an accurate production budget. Production budgets cannot be increased once approved.

Each form is allowed to submit up to 10 files, with each file upload limited to 25 MB. In addition, we limit the total request size to 100 MB.
