Micro-commissions project of Ta(r)dino 6 Art Platform with support of the Embassy of Sweden in Azerbaijan
In response to “Problems faced by artists in Azerbaijan in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic” survey results conducted by Ta(r)dino 6 Art Platform, the Embassy of Sweden in Azerbaijan has chosen to support the second stage of the project that aims at developing art projects benefiting the artistic community.
8 artists and photographers – Shahnaz Aghayeva, Naila Dadash-zadeh, Mahabbat Kazimova, Nazrin Mammadova, Sharaf Naghiyeva, Vusal Rahim, Gunel Ravilova, Shalala Salamzadeh – were invited to submit their interpretation of ‘Flowers for Medics’ topic or provide an existing artwork produced in the last two months. The artworks and information about artists is shared on @tardino6 Instagram profile from June 3 to 7, 2020.
Ta(r)dino 6 Micro-Commissions project aims at popularising the concept of artist participation fee in a hope that this becomes an industry rule. The organisers are worried that even in professional art circles work of artists, curators, photographers and other members of the creative community is not always remunerated. Each participant of the Micro-Commissions project receives an honorarium as an act of appreciation and support.
