This project’s main aims were to decentralize Azerbaijan’s art and cultural activities, empower artists and cultural activists with different ethnic identities, and create a safe space in art and culture for non-privileged groups.
The engagement of ethnic minorities in art and culture is limited due to their residence places since access to cultural activities is limited in regions and villages compared to the capital city Baku. Therefore, to ensure local artists’ access to cultural and artistic activities, VarYox implemented the project in 5 different regions/villages of Azerbaijan, where the ethnic minorities reside. This project was supported by Danish Cultural Institute.
