VarYox.Az and Gazelli Art House invite Azerbaijani and Azerbaijan-based female artists to submit an artwork proposal for inclusion in the inaugural Her Art in Action Festival. The festival aims to elevate women’s voices and experiences through art. The 2024 theme is The Feminine Gaze: Seeing Ourselves and Each Other, which asks women to consider how they want to be portrayed through art and how art can serve to share their authentic experiences.
Candidates can submit an existing work or propose a new work, which will be commissioned by VarYox and the festival sponsors. For new works, candidates must submit a production budget and timeline; production will be covered within reason and availability of funds. The final list of artworks will be determined by a jury of members from VarYox and Gazelli Art House. Artwork proposals will be evaluated on the strength of the concept concerning the festival theme, as well as the feasibility of the work about the timeline and budget for production.
