To an honor of Azerbaijani women liberation’s 100 anniversary in collaboration with the Tbilisi Art Fair (TAF) video art exhibition titled “To be a Woman” by 10 Azerbaijani contemporary artists of different generations reflecting on gender issues will be presented on May 17-19, 2019 in Tbilisi (Georgia) by Baku United Artists Club under auspices of the Union of Azerbaijani Artists (UAA). Azerbaijani video art project initiated by honorary artist of Azerbaijan Republic Sabina Shikhlinskaya open the doors on May 17, 2019.
“To be a Woman” with the eyes of the artists- Agil Abdullayev, Bahram Khalilov, Chinara Mejidova, Leyli Salayeva, Leyli Gafarova, Nazrin Mammadova, Sabina Shikhlinskaya, Sitara Ibrahimova, Teymur Daimi, Vusal Rahim- aims through the contemporary art reflecting the gender equality topic to underline the women empowerment in Azerbaijani society as well as over the world across the last 100 historical years and the possible answers to the most actual questions of this topic in the context of the international community.
The project produced by Bahram Khalilov and coordinated by Konul Rafiyeva is supported by “United Cultures in Azerbaijan” and the Embassy of Sweden in Azerbaijan.
