32-hr Basic Yoga Program with Cultural Intent – June 24, 25, 26 and 27, 2019
Description:
Yoga combines breath, movement and mental concentration to help relieve stress and help support their physical, mental and emotional health. It is also a popular practice used alongside different medical treatments and therapies. In this special yoga course in partnership with Cultural Intent, participants will learn basic anatomy, philosophy, breathing techniques and a physical asana sequence that can be used to help themselves or other yoga practitioners find peace and calm. Upon successful completion of the course, participants have the opportunity to lead basic yoga practices as part of Cultural Intent’s community volunteer activities. All levels welcome.

General info:
People who will commit to volunteering with Cultural Intent for whatever time you specify can get the training at a discount – we could say 160 Manat, which would also give them a printed training manual, and lunch daily. This is a great deal, basically 5 Manat per hour. Regular yoga classes are between 15-20 Manat per hour. If they really want to join and absolutely cannot pay, we can have a separate discussion with them.
People who want to join just for the experience can pay 480 Manat and get the same package – certificate of participation, training manual, and lunch daily.
Lesley’s bio:
Lesley Gray (E-RYT 200, RYT 500, YACEP) has taught yoga studio classes, workshops and teacher trainings since 2011.
Originally from Richmond, Virginia (USA), Lesley began her yoga journey as a teenager after her doctor recommended it to her for lifetime maintenance of her body following childhood spinal surgery. She completed her 200-hr teacher training in 2011 in Ashtanga Vinyasa under her teacher and mentor Valerie Jeremijenko, owner and founder of Yama Yoga Studios in Doha, Qatar, and her 300-hr advanced yoga training in Yin Yoga in 2014 with her teacher Paul Grilley, the founder of Yin Yoga. Lesley continues to train with Paul and Suzee Grilley annually in functional anatomy and yoga philosophy. As an avid practitioner of Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin yoga styles as well as pranayama and meditation, she weaves these traditions into her teachings, finding inspiration in them all. Lesley currently teaches Vinyasa and Yin yoga studio classes and workshops in Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Qatar and UAE, and has graduated over 100 students from her workshops and trainings. In 2018, she began teaching yoga programs for emotional health and addiction recovery support in collaboration with Cultural Intent in Baku, Azerbaijan.
